EDUCATION

- MSc (Laurea) in Civil Engineering with full marks and honours (1991)
- PhD in Environmental Applied Physics, University of Palermo – Title of thesis : “Utilization of a three-dimensional fluid dynamic code for the study of the dispersion of gas pollutant in atmosphere(1998)

EMPLOYMENT AND CAREER
In 1999 he obtained an award for the research titled “ Technological newness on the productive process of construction material utilizing industrial waste” by the University of Catania.
Since 2001, he is Assistant Professor in Environmental Applied Physics, Faculty of Engineering, University of Catania
- Since 2017 he has obtained National Scientific Qualification for the role of Associate professor

TEACHING AND ACADEMIC ACTIVITY

He teaches at Engineering Faculty of University of Catania following academic courses: Environmental Applied Physics, Environmental Control Techniques ( since 2001).
Supervisor of more than 50 Thesis of master Decree and Ph.D. Thesis.
Scientific supervisor for research contract, scholarship, research grant activated within research projects.
Scientific Manager of the Laboratory of Applied and Building Physics of the Department of Industrial Engineering
Member of the academic senate of the University of Catania (from 2012 to 2016)
Member of the Board of the Department of engineering electric, electronic and informatics ( from 2017 up now)
Secretary of the Council of the Course the master degree in Engineering for Environment and Territory ( from 2017 up now)

AREAS OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
- Author of more than 130 articles published in international journal (50) and conference proceedings (80), the main area of interest are: Buildings Energy Efficiency, Building Acoustic, Environmental Acoustic, Environmental Air Quality (EAQ), Air Pollution, Renewables Energy ( solar thermal, photovoltaic, wind, biomasses ), Energy Policy, HVAC plants , Fluid dynamic analysis of ventilated structure, Heat transfer and thermal comfort
